Today, Sofitec has committed to a €20 m investment to expand their current facilities and boost their technological development in the manufacturing of metallics, carbon fiber composite materials and aerostructures.
The company anticipates the full operativeness of this new space by the end of 2015, which will guarantee our expansion internationally. This substantial investment constitutes a new challenge in the evolution of the company. What is more, it represents a stronger responsibility towards our clients, both national and international, collaborators and employees to increase our participation in the development of new aeronautical projects.

Thanks to this expansion, our expertise in the development of integral solutions in the manufacturing of composites, metals and aerostructures, guarantees the completion of the contracts recently signed and the capacity to take on the expected workload in the medium term. The new orders will represent a significant increase in their multi-technological capacity, responsibility and invoicing within the next 15 years.

Sofitec’s new facilities will be located just a mere 8 km. away from the current headquarters in Aeropolis and Airbus Defense and Space’s FAL. This expansion will add 25,000 m2 to the already available 11,000 m2 in the Aeronautical Industrial Park.

This new space will accommodate new technological equipment for the manufacturing of aerostructures, metallics and composites, such as a new autoclave capable of producing parts with a length of up to 16 m.

From our birthdate in 1999, the company has experienced an uninterrupted growth within such a demanding sector as the aeronautical, known for significant technological investments, as well as for our high-qualified teams.

Given the current circumstances, this investment unveils not only we belief in this industrial sector, deeply rooted in the region, but also and more importantly it reveals our self-confidence to offer potential, responsibility and value to the international market in the long-term.
