Sofitec buys 70,000 m2 next to their projected facilities in Carmona with the idea to expand their development of aerostructures and manufacturing in mind.
The beginning of 2015 has a special meaning for Sofitec: the confirmation that the aeronautical sector is a long-distance race. The Spanish company develops integral solutions in aerostructures and the manufacturing of composites and metallic materials. After 16 years on the road, they have just bought 68,500 m2 next to the 25,000-m2 unit they had purchased in Carmona’s Industrial Park.

These new facilities will allow the company to boost their current capacities and industrial processes for those projects underway and to guarantee a response to the recently signed contracts. In addition, this places them in a strategic position to increase their participation in other international projects.

Along these lines, Sofitec has recently landed a contract with FACC to manufacture basic parts for the C919 Spoiler, as well as several projects for the KC-390 and the Legacy 450/500 programs with the Brasilian company Embraer. The structural subassemblies for the VTP, HTP, Upper and Lower Stringer Wing, as well as the Cargo Door, RAT Door and Tail Cone for the business jet belong to the former contract.
Likewise, the first structural carbon fibre parts for the A350 S-15 fuselage is being delivered to Spirit Aerosystems throughout the first few weeks of 2015.

New programs and clients that provide the necessary motivation to continue banking on the talent and the technology at the service of high added value solutions.
