NEW SOFITEC FACILITIES, 100% CERTIFIED FOR AIRBUS D&S

This series joins the extensive list of certified processes that the company makes available to the sector on a global scale.

Sofitec´s plant, which has recently seen its capacities expanded as a result of significant investment in manufacturing technology and metal surface treatments, is now 100% certified for Airbus Defence & Space.

Last March, processes linked to the automatic surface treatment line and robotic painting cabin were certified, such as boric-sulphur anodizing and sol-gel on titanium for Boeing; and phosphoric anodizing, anticorrosive primer for structural gluing and painting of metallic elementals for Airbus D&S.

Now, Airbus D&S has just certified Sofitec for the following processes:

- TSA Anodizing - I+D-P-416
- PAA Anodizing - I+D-P-111
- Chemical Conversion Coating - I+D-P-202
- Penetrant testing - I+D-E-137
- Primer for Metal to Metal Structural Bonding - 06-02-007
- Painting - R+D-P-060, R+D-P-064, R+D-P-358

Thanks to this, the company sees a substantial increase in its production capacity with regard to metal surface treatments, offering the possibility of increasing the size of the parts to be manufactured - up to 6 metres -, as well as gaining in efficiency by optimising batches of smaller ones.

This series joins the extensive list of certified processes that the company makes available to the sector on a global scale. As an aerostructure manufacturer, the certification of the expansion of the capacity in metal manufacturing was one of the fundamental goals of the company within the development of its activity for the main OEM's.

Thanks to these new certifications, it will allow you to give greater agility in lead-times for the final customer and an improvement in productivity, by balancing the load-capacity ratio.

Sofitec thus takes another step in its consolidation as a reference supplier for the aerospace industry, becoming a more competitive partner globally in the area of metal manufacturing and, by extension, in the integrated management of aerostructures.
