U.S. aerospace industry visits Sofitec facilities.

Thanks to Extenda’s reverse trade mission, Boeing; Collins Aerospace, Spirit Aerosystems, Zeus, GA Telesis and Pilatus Aircraft have first-hand knowledge of our technological and industrial multicapacity.

The Andalusian Public Company for Foreign Promotion, Extenda, has organized a very interesting meeting on October 19 and 20 of the Andalusian aeronautical sector with large OEMs and Tier1 U.S. in the framework of a reverse trade mission.

In the case of Sofitec, and motivated to find new business opportunities and diversification in projects and clients, we have had the opportunity to hold bilateral meetings where we have shared with the US industry current projects, available capacities and future forecasts.

On the other hand, on the 20th, we received at our facilities the representatives of these companies, where we were able to show in detail the technological capabilities in the manufacture and assembly of aerostructures and elementary components in composites and metallic materials. During the visit, they highlighted our investments and available capacity for the manufacture of components and aerostructures in composite, metallic and mixed materials; with special attention to drawing, heat treatments and automatic processing of metallic surface treatments, at a key moment for the reactivation of the industry at a global level.

The CEO of Extenda, Arturo Bernal, praised the “excellent work carried out by the Andalusian aerospace sector, giving visibility to the great potential and aeronautical tradition of our community, which makes Andalusia one of the three most important aerospace hubs in Europe, generating employment and wealth”.
